In a recent survey conducted by the National Turn On Association (NTOA), a woman with a great sense of humor ranked highest on the list in 2012. Ok, I made that up. But if I were to take a guess, it’s pretty high up there. That said, I present to you, actress/comedian Sofia Gonzalez. She’s the ultimate trifecta: gorgeous, friendly and funny. Really funny.

Sofia is touted as the new Tina Fey.  And in many circles she’s known as LaTina Fey. This Groundlings Graduate is gorgeous, sexy, and extremely funny. She does unbelievable impressions and she is quickly becoming the go-to girl in the Latin Market and the Comedy Market. She has been on the front page of Funny or Die dozens of times. For a good laugh, check out some of her videos here or on YouTube.

Man Cave Daily: You’re so freaking hysterical—and pretty! But does that make guys feel intimated? Or pressure to be funny, too?

Sofia: Thank you!  I had a guy approach me once and say, “I heard you’re funny, and I thought I would open with a joke… but I’m chickening out!” and I thought that was adorably honest and it made me laugh! So yes, some guys do feel the pressure to be funny. If it’s too forced, it can come off as rude and obnoxious. When a guy thinks steamrolling me with witty banter is hot, I imagine yelling, “I’m pregnant!” in his face and then running away, arms flailing. But I smile and nod instead. Because it’s more important to be polite, I always say.

MCD: Indeed it is. Where do you live now and where did you grow up?

Knock knock: Who’s there? Us. With flowers

Sofia: I grew up in San Francisco and Sacramento, California.  Now I live in West Hollywood. I’m a California girl through and through.  But I identify with the David Lee Roth camp way more than the Katy Perry one.

Who do you find funny?

Sofia: Kristen Wiig is a hero of mine. Sarah Silverman, Zach Galifiankais, and Donald Glover.  I’m a big fan of Penelope Cruz.  I know she is known as a dramatic actress, but when she was in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, I couldn’t stop laughing at her portrayal of this emotionally unstable woman. Just brilliant!

MCD: Random fact about you. Go!

Sofia: I really dig Zumba (dance fitness). It’s super hard and insanely fun!  During class, I secretly find someone to dance battle and make sure I win…but they don’t even know that we are in competition. It gets intense! I always lose.

MCD: It’s like a secret Zumba dance-off—love it! So, your videos seriously crack me up. Which one is your fave?

Sofia: Right now, definitely “How to Magazine Modeling.”

MCD: I loved that one! How did you come up with the idea?

Sofia: My friend Patty and I were on set for another project and we had a magazine there to kill time in between shots. We were looking at the magazine together and we started naming the poses we saw in the advertisements and cracking each other up. Then we picked up another magazine and saw that so many poses were the same! We kept naming poses in these strange voices and the people around us began to laugh, so we knew we were on to something.

MCD: Ok, last question…what’s the best advice you can give a guy about how to treat a girl?

Sofia: Take a genuine interest in what makes her crack up. You don’t have to be a comedian to remember those little things that will make her chuckle on a hard day.  Even if that means putting on her favorite sitcom, she’ll appreciate it. And you know… buy her shoes.
