The new season of Arrested Development debuted over Memorial Day weekend to mixed reviews which is to be expected, but in typical internet fashion, many of the viewer’s complaints were based on not understanding gags in the show. Here’s a look at some of the most hilarious complaints viewers have tweeted regarding the new season.
If you’ve seen a single episode then you’ve noticed the Show Stealer Trial Version watermark on any footage from past seasons. What seems to be an obvious joke to most was not to obvious to others as the complaints rolled in accusing Netflix of being too cheap to purchase the fictitious Show Steal program and others desperately trying to find the full version of the app online.
Then there’s the story of Steve Holt. This is a bit of a spoiler so if you haven’t watched it yet you might want to skip this section. Steve Holt was made to look terribly old and out of shape as a joke in the show. In real life Justin Grant Wade looks quite appropriate for his age. He was actually wearing a bald cap with a wig to give him that awful look. Clearly some did not get this joke:
Then there’s these diehard fans that refuse to spend the whopping $8 for the thousands of movies and shows on Netflix and actually took the time to complain that there isn’t a torrent file available yet to download the new season even though it’s “already been out for a whole day uggghhhh!”
